ABOUT US

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”
― Virginia Woolf, A Room of One's Own

FOOD IS LOVE. FOOD IS LIFE.
My love affair with food started very early. I grew up in a family of foodies where lunch conversations were always about planning for dinner. With every season, we will be presenting special dishes made with the season's best produce.

The love with which my mother cooks in the kitchen till today says a lot about our family. She has this intense love for cooking and is extremely creative as well. I honestly learned a great deal of my culinary skills from her. She taught me how to prepare things fresh and from scratch, unafraid to experiment with flavors and combinations.

There's a saying in Bengal "Banagalir baro masher tero parbon" which literally means that Bengalis celebrate 13 festivals in 12 months of the year. And festivity is all about celebrating food. Food is at the center of much of what we do in our everyday lives - every ceremony, holiday, even in our work and business environments have food somewhere in the mix. Food has the power to unite us and ties us to history, rituals, and traditions.

My husband and I love love experimenting with foods and different ways of preparing those foods. We believe that a regular meal at home can also taste great, if cooked with love and passion. But for a lot of my friends, it is an everyday chore. They would often express frustration cooking meal after meal, all day, every day.

Through this blog, we are going to share with you some of the recipes that we tried at home, some useful kitchen tips that i learnt from my parents, friends and other bloggers and hoping you would share a few of your favorite recipes with me.
